SAFE & SOUND: Fraud Prevention for the Hard of Hearing

  • Pleasant Valley Library 1584 Main Street Pleasant Valley, NY, 12569 United States (map)

Join the HLAA Mid-Hudson Chapter for an informative session on fraud prevention.

In an era of increasingly sophisticated scams, staying one step ahead is more important than ever. The HLAA Mid-Hudson Chapter invites both members and the general public to a vital presentation designed to empower the hearing loss community against fraud. Scammers often use high-pressure tactics that can be especially challenging to navigate with hearing loss.

Details: Social time will be from 4:30 to 5:15. We will start Zoom at 5:15 PM, and the regular meeting will begin from 5:15 to 6:30 PM.

Speaker: Brian Jones, Outreach Coordinator at the Dutchess County Office for the Aging.

Brian Jones has been the Outreach Coordinator at the Dutchess County Office for the Aging since 2016. He helps older adults, caregivers, and residents find and use local services so they can live independently and happily as long as safely possible. He edits OFA publications, including the quarterly THRIVE60+ and the weekly Aging News, and gives talks on scam prevention, aging well, OFA services, and more. Before OFA, he spent over 25 years as a news director at Hudson Valley radio stations. Born in Rhinebeck, he lives in Tivoli with his wife and two children and is the baseball and basketball public address announcer for Bard College.

Everyone is Welcome! Open to the public and recommended for individuals with hearing loss or their family members.
